reddingroyalsfcROYALS TO COMPETE IN HIGHER LEVEL SEMI-PRO SOCCER // RRFC is preparing both the men’s and women’s teams for a more competitive soccer stage. In their inaugural season, the men’s team took the Pacific Premier League Championship with an eight game winning streak! The women’s team also took the league title with an undefeated record. To continue to advance competitive soccer in Redding, the club founder, Daniel Bietz, announced plans to enter both teams into higher level semi-pro leagues. “The coaching staff and I are very proud of our teams’ performances this year. Our players consistently competed with our values of respect, honor, hard work, selflessness, and integrity. ” said Bietz. “Our men’s team beat Victory FC, who placed second in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) Spring National Playoff Championship. Our women’s team beat Liberty FC of the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL). They are a talented group that is more than ready to compete against stronger opponents in the spring 2018 season. ” The men’s team has qualified to enter the UPSL, which features over 100 men’s teams in California, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Colorado. The women’s team will pursue a spot in the WPSL which holds over 100 teams participating from all over the United States. To develop the club, RRFC will continue to recruit international players with strong experience and skills. This past year, the club recruited players from Brazil, England, France, Guadalupe, Scotland, and Tanzania. The club will also continue to draw from local talent. This past year, some of RRFC’s local players included Alonnah Torculas (Shasta High), Caden Reid (Shasta High), Caroline Forseth (Enterprise High), Daniel Gonzales (Red Bluff High), David Tate (UPrep High), JJ Waterman (West Valley High), Lori Forseth (Enterprise High), Megan Colburn (Foothill High), Rylie Pinnell (UPrep High), Stephen Darkwa (Anderson New Technology High), Taylor Pinnell (UPrep High), and Zachary Golden (Anderson High).. Caroline wrapped up the season at the NSCIF Section Finals taking an impressive 44.1 seconds off her course record and placing 6th in Division and 34th overall with a time of 21:06.8 in the 3 mile race.
11-2-17 Cross Country
Caroline ran at Foothill for the EAL/SRL Championships and took 15th. She took 56 seconds off her previous best times on this course with a time of 21:48.0 for 5000 meters.
